We are starting our much more structured Home School journey. This is a very exciting time for our home. I am busy planning away, we will be starting a little bit earlier as we have something very exciting happening in late October early November.

We are going to be using:
Reading Eggs
Peaceful Preschool Curriculum
Habitat Schoolhouse Curriculum

We are excited to be taking on this eclectic approach. We will be following the Reading Egg letter order, using the Peaceful Preschool and Habitat School House curriculum’s. We will also be adding play based activities and nature play to our days.

I’ll be writing a blog post for each of the letters we complete with a full book list and activities. I’m looking at doing each letter for 2 weeks so as to not feel rushed and to give my girls time to fully grasp and enjoy the learning experience.

My girls are aged 4 and 2 and I’ll be involving our youngest in with my eldest’s lessons.

I’m slowly working on our morning routine and then will build up into our whole day routine. This is the structure I’m hoping to achieve for our days.

Our Schedule

6:00- 7:00 am Wake up + Quiet play, morning strew
7:00- 8:00 am Self Care + Breakfast
8:00 – 9:00 am Morning time basket, read alouds & calendar
9:00 – 10:00 am Snack + outdoor play
10:00 – 11:00 am Phonics, maths & Reading eggs
11:00 – 12:00 am Lunch time
12:00 – 2:00 pm Quiet Time, Audio Books & Free play
2:00 – 4:00pm Afternoon tea, Projects, Recipes or Nature Walk
4:00-5:00 pm Free play and dinner prep
5:00 pm Dinner Time as a family
6:00 pm Bed time routines

So there it is, this will be for our days when we are home all day. I will make another altered one for days which we have things on in the morning etc. which I will share at a later date once I work out what will suit us best. I know this won’t all flow from the beginning but it is a goal of mine to achieve this for our family.

I’m sure there will be set backs, but as they say, Rome wasn’t built in a day. I look forward to updating you all on our progress as we go. Please let me know if you have any questions.
