Icy Insects

Another activity we did at our Halloween play date .So much fun was had with these little slippery critters and super easy to recreate perfect for messy play and sensory development. The munchkins loved pouring all the coloured water into the tub and trying to set the insects free from the ice.

You will need:

  • Silicon muffin tray
  • Plastic insects
  • Food dye
  • Baking tray
  • Water
  • Jug
  • Spoon

How to:
  1. Place muffin tray onto baking tray (this is soley just to make the icy insects easier to carry to put in the freezer)
  2. Place one insect into each muffin tray Dot loved helping with this part.
  3. Fill jug with water add a few drop of food colouring stir with spoon {I did this three different times to achieve three different colours}
  4. Pour coloured water into each muffin cup.
  5. Place in freezer .
  6. Once frozen pop them out ready for play.
  7. For extra fun I also filled cups with coloured water to be poured into the big tub.
