DIY Picasso Fridge Magnets

DIY Picasso Fridge Magnets

This is a really fun and imaginative activity for little ones

As you may all ready know we have been working on feelings this week.

One of the elements of that is how our facial expressions show how we are feeling.

Dots really enjoyed watching and experimenting with how our faces change depending on how we are feeling.

She does the most adorable angry face when she practices angry

So I thought these Picasso fridge magnets would be a fun way for Miss Dot to make faces and play with different facial expressions.

You will need:

  • Scissors
  • Mod Podge {I used matte one}
  • Magnetic Sheets
  • Magazines
  • Fridge or magnetic board
How to:
  1. Trawl through your magazines and cut out all the good face parts you can find. { I focused on ears eyes noses and glasses.} if your little ones are older I’m sure they would enjoy cutting out their own clippings to make their own magnets.
  2. Mod Podge your magazine cuttings onto your magnetic sheets. {I am new to Mod Podge but it is true less really is more} You can do a coat of Mod Podge on the top to just to seal them a bit better.
  3. When dry cut out pictures that are now glued to magnetic sheets.
  4. Place on fridge and enjoy

This activity focuses on:

  • Emotions
  • Facial Expressions
  • Body Parts
  • Creativity
  • Imagination
  • Self Expression Expression
