Magic Milk

Magic Milk

This is a fun colourful little science experiment Miss Dot and I did together a few weeks ago.

Best thing about it is you will most likely have all of the supplies.

Dot had an absolute blast playing with this activity I had to recreate it several times.

For this activity you will need:

  • A shallow dish
  • Milk
  • Three different coloured food dyes {I went with the primary colours red, blue, yellow}
  • Cotton will tip
  • Dishwashing liquid

How to:

  1. Cover just the surface of your shallow dish with milk
  2. Add three different coloured food dyes to the middle of the milk in the dish. Make sure the dyes overlap each other.
  3. Grab a cotton wool tip dip it into dishwashing liquid.
  4. Dip cotton wool tip into the middle of the dyes and enjoy the magic.

This activity promotes:

  • Science
  • Colour recognition
  • Physics
  • Discovery
  • Cause and effect

Suitable for:

Children who can hold a Cotten tip.
