Feeling Feelings

Feeling Feelings

Is a sensory based activity it is all about feelings and how they can feel. I have taken 6 different coloured balloons and filled them each with a different sensory texture.

Sensory Textures:

  • Exited Orange~ clay beads
  • Shy Green~ Split peas
  • Happy Yellow~ Mini Pom Poms
  • Scared Purple~ Play Dough
  • Sad blue~ Hand Sanitiser
  • Angry Red~ Rice

I filled each balloon then tied a knot in the top and drew each feelings expression on the front of them.

Miss Dot had a lovely time squishing and squashing each balloon as well as discussing which face was on them and how they are feeling.

This activity promotes:

  • Emotions
  • Sensory development
  • Speech

Suitable for:

Children who can grasp things.

Wonderful way to discuss feelings with a child who is having trouble expressing how they feel.
