This is a fun activity that helps children discover the effect water levels have on notes and sounds.
Dot loved this activity she enjoyed running the spoon along the sides of the glasses and mixing the spoon inside the glasses watching the water spin and listening to the sound the spoon made when it clanked the inside of the glasses. Dot also discussed each of the colours as she tapped them with the spoon. You can also advance this activity by ordering them smallest to largest, largest to smallest. Or mixed up in all different orders to see how they sound together.
Dot also had the idea to try some painting with her coloured waters and asked if she could have a piece paper so she could make some splash paintings with her hands. Love how childrens interpretations of activities can be so different from ours. There really is no right or wrong way to learn discover and create.
